A revision of the prayer for All Saints in the Book of Common Prayer:
We give thanks to you, O Lord, our God, for all your servants and witnesses of times past, for:
Abraham and Sarah, parents of all believers; for
Moses, Aaron and Miriam, who led our forebearers in faith out of Egypt; for
Elijah and Isaiah, Jonah and John the Baptist, and all the prophets; for
Mary, the Mother of our Lord, and Mary Magdalene, Apostle to the Apostles; for
Peter and Paul, John and James the Just, and for all the apostles; for
Oswald and Audrey, Brendan and Bede, Genevieve and Joan, Patrick and Francis, and all your martyrs and saints in every age and every land.
In your mercy, O Lord, our God, give us, as you gave them, the hope of salvation and the promise of eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the first-born of many from the dead. Amen.
