As in the Magdalene picture to the left, prayer beads and books of hours went hand in hand in the late medieval and early modern period. They were both essential tools for the faithful. Both have changed dramatically over the years. Prayer books like Books of Hours will be discussed elsewhere on this blog. This page is to collect posts and pictures of prayer bead designs.
